Pune-based Lexicon Schools have taken a pioneering step in education by launching India’s first ‘Happiness Curriculum’, designed to nurture emotional well-being, mindfulness, and social harmony among students.
The curriculum integrates mindfulness practices, gratitude exercises, emotional regulation, and self-reflection into the daily timetable. Its goal is to ensure students grow not only academically but also emotionally resilient and socially aware.
“Education must go beyond marks — it should help children understand themselves and their emotions,” said the Principal of The Lexicon School. “This initiative empowers students to lead happier, more balanced lives both inside and outside the classroom.”
Teachers across Lexicon campuses have been trained by psychologists and mindfulness experts to facilitate these sessions effectively. Parents are also included through periodic workshops to ensure continuity at home.
This initiative aligns with global movements in social-emotional learning and marks a significant shift in how schools define success.
